Support. Understanding. Hope.

Chronic Illness Therapy in Sacramento

and across California

Whether you are still seeking a diagnosis or received one years ago, living with a chronic illness can often be lonely, frustrating, and stressful.

The people in your life — even those closest to you — can’t fully understand what you go through each day. Even doctors may have questioned you in the past. It is difficult enough to live with the physical symptoms of your illness … add on the emotional, relational, and mental toll it takes, and life can begin to feel truly overwhelming.

You want to find more hope in the day-to-day.

You want to be able to enjoy the parts of life others take for granted, to find the pockets of joy, relief, and humor in day-to-day life that might be difficult to see right now. You’re ready to have more impact on what your mind says, even on the days it feels like your body lets you down.

In chronic illness therapy, we’ll work on…

Self-IDentity

It’s normal to wonder “who am I now?” in the midst of your chronic health struggle. We’ll process these questions in order to help you feel more secure, confident, and at peace in your body and with yourself.

Relationships

Chronic illness can be very lonely, when even those with the best of intentions can’t truly understand what you’re facing. We’ll work on ways to navigate these relationships, have conversations about your inner needs, and help you feel more connected to those around you.

Life Vision

It can be difficult to feel hopeful about the future when you are caught in the daily battles of chronic illness. In therapy, we’ll work on practical skills for daily management and coping to help you cultivate a sense of empowerment and fulfillment.

You deserve a place where you are truly understood.

Chronic illness is part of my lived experience. I know what it’s like to battle and advocate in order to be taken seriously by your medical providers, to feel like a burden to those around you, and to wonder if it will ever feel better.

Now, as a chronic illness therapist, it’s my privilege to offer you a space where you can safely sit with all of the emotions and questions you haven’t felt comfortable verbalizing in the past, as well as the expertise and guidance you deserve to find meaning and purpose for the future.

When needed, I’m also available for coordination of care directly with your doctor. I’m here to support you in whatever you need to feel your best — inside and out.

Chronic illness therapy can help you:

  • Process feelings of anger or resentment surrounding your illness

  • Set healthier boundaries that protect your physical and mental health

  • Break the cycles of negative self-talk that can make you feel worse

  • Incorporate self-compassion into day-to-day life, even on your “bad” symptom days

  • Navigate conversations about your condition with loved ones, coworkers, new partners, and more

  • Feel more connected and at peace with yourself

Together, let’s re-discover all that life has to offer you.
